Songs in preeschool (I)

Songs in preeschool (I)

The music and movement in a preschool classroom is an important part of a child's day. Music is all around us, it helps develop self-esteem, gross motor skills, social skills and listening skills in a foreign language and can be created or adapted to match specific routines. Songs can be used to reinforce fundamental learning like basic literacy (alphabet songs)and numeracy (counting songs).
Furthermore, most young children enjoy music and they respond positively ,they like to dance, make sounds with instruments and toys, laugh and giggle at finger plays, and join in with songs they know well.
As we know, the young children learn about their world through play, we can create songs and rhymes and it`s a good form to create an authentic and natural language.
The types of songs are:

1) Fingerplay songs
This type of music includes movements and actions and kids love these because they get to be active while singing This type of music that includes the fingers to do the song, the fingers are the different parents or different animals for example:

Six little ducks that I once knew
Little ones, big ones, tall ones too
But the one little duck with the feather on her back
She led the others with her quack, quack, quack
Quack, Quack Quack
She led the others with her quack, quack, quack

Down to the river they would go
With a wibble wobble, wibble wobble to and fro
But the one little duck with the feather on her back
She led the others with her quack, quack, quack
Quack, Quack Quack
She led the others with her quack, quack, quack

Home from the river they would come
With a wibble wobble, wibble wobble ho ho hum
But the one little duck with the feather on her back
She led the others with her quack, quack, quack
Quack, Quack Quack
She led the others with her quack, quack, quack

  1. Well, that’s a great idea. A teacher can better understand that with what sort of kid he has to cope with. Every teacher in Phoenix kindergarten is pleasant with their students.
